SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. - The Pioneers dominated the first half and held on to win by 9 at John Brown on Saturday. MNU shot 63% from the field including 77% from beyond the arc in the first half to take a 24-point lead into the locker room. The Golden Eagles almost flipped the script in the second half as MNU cooled off, but the Pioneers were able to fight off JBU runs and hit enough free throws to win by 9.
Turning Point
JBU cut a 21-point deficit down to 6 with a 4-minute 19-4 burst, but
Mitchell McMullen hit a bucket to stop the run and regain a multi-possession lead.
Individual Leaders
Mitchell McMullen shot 8-13 from the field including 5-7 from deep for 25 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Kellan Turner shot 6-10 with 3 threes for 17 points and 4 steals off the bench.
Jonathan Green added 15 points.
Hudson Welty hauled in a game high 9 rebounds. And
Gabriel Jordan had 12 points on 4-5 shooting and 5 fouls in 11 minutes.
