The Pioneers had to settle for their second consecutive tie after losing a 2-goal lead at Columbia on Tuesday.
Taryn McClendon got MNU on the board in the 19th minute on a pass from
Riley Slack, and
Allison Rice made it 2-0 just before halftime with an assist from
Amanda Hiebert. But Columbia found late magic with a goal in the 71st minute to get back into it. Then with just over a minute to play, Columbia tied the match and sent it into overtime. Neither team scored in the extra sessions, and the game ended in a draw.
MNU is 1-0-2. The next matches are this weekend in Arizona vs. Embry-Riddle and The Master's.
