MNU swept Friday and split Saturday while taking 3 of 4 from Benedictine this weekend. MNU walked off Game 1 before dominating Game 2 in a double header sweep of Benedictine on Friday. The Pioneers got on the board first with a
Logan Tills RBI groundout in the third inning. But Benedictine rallied for 3 runs on 3 hits in the top of the fourth to take the lead. MNU answered right back with 2 in the bottom of the fourth, and the game remained tied into the eighth. In the bottom of the eighth,
Jason Jones doubled and
Robert Berning followed with a single to drive in the winning run.
Blake Robberson threw all 8 innings and struck out 8 for his sixth win of the season. And
Jeremie Gonzalez (3-3, R),
Christian Quinones (2-3, RBI), and
Lenzie Foley (2-3, R) had multi-hit games.
In Game 2,
Phil Graham struck out 8 in a 3-hit shutout, and the Pioneers put up 10 runs.
Jeremie Gonzalez hit a 2-run homer in the second, MNU rallied for 4 in the third, and
Jordan Eckley hit a 2-run shot in the fourth. Single runs in the fifth and sixth made it 10-0.

In Game 3, the Pioneers scored 4 in the bottom of the first and extended the lead throughout. The Ravens scored 1 in the second and 3 in the fourth, but a
Logan Tills 2-run triple put MNU up 7-4.
Robert Berning homered in the fifth and Tills added a 2-run shot in the sixth and MNU won 10-4.
Emilio Gonzales struck out 7 in 5.1 innings for the win.
Zach Stinnett ended a threat in the sixth and finished the game for the save. And

In Game 4, Benedictine went up 6-0 after 2 innings and the Pioneers couldn't recover.
Brandon Marrero's 3-run homer cut the deficit in half, but Benedictine scored single runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth to extend the lead.
Jordan Eckley's 10th homer of the season, a solo shot, got MNU closer. And a rally in the bottom of the seventh got MNU within 2 runs at 9-7, but the Pioneers came up short and dropped the finale.
