NAIA Recap | MNU led at halftime but couldn't hold on as #1 Georgetown pulled away late in the semifinals of the National Tournament in Kansas City on Monday. The final was 90-83. The Pioneers played right with the top-ranked team in the country in the first half, taking a 5-point lead to the locker room. But a 22-4 run over 7 minutes early in the second half was the key stretch of the game, and the Pioneers dug too big a hole. In the final 3 minutes, MNU used a 12-3 run to claw back to within 3, but Georgetown hit enough free throws in the final seconds to hold off the Pioneers.Jonas Page led 5 Pioneers in double figures with 15 points.
Jordan Whelan had 14 points and 8 rebounds off the bench.
Justin Jamison added 12 points and 7 rebounds.
Justin Randall had 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks. And
Nick Syrie had 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists.
MNU finishes the season 28-8 with a conference title and a run to the Fab 4.
