Oklahoma City University came to MNU for a non-conference match Saturday afternoon and the Pioneers won 3-0. This was the last non-conference game for MNU before they start Heart of America Conference play next week.
Â
From start to finish the Pioneers controlled the game. The final stats were more lopsided than the score and the team looks strong as they head into conference play. MNU's first goal came in the 27th minute when after a series of passes up the field,
Tanner Hunjak scored his first of the afternoon.
Cameron Wallace and
Eddie Morales were given assists on the play. After several more chances came up short the Pioneers went into the halftime break up 1-0.Â
Â
The second half started well for the Pioneers. They intensified their pressure on the Stars and began to create chances right away. The second goal came in the 56th minute. Wallace took a pass from
Lucas Machado and placed a nice shot into the upper corner. Ten minutes later, Hunjak completed his brace. A header by
Johannes Keisers on a corner kick hit the crossbar. Hunjak was there to head the rebound home from close range. With the Pioneers up 3-0, both teams began to substitute players and no more scoring was to be done by either team.
