Pioneers Lose at Home to Columbia

Box Score MNU has lost two in a row after a 69-58 loss to undefeated Columbia on Tuesday. The teams played evenly in the first quarter until last-second bucket gave the Cougars a 3-point lead. Columbia opened up a multi-possession lead in the second quarter, and MNU trailed by 5 at halftime.

Columbia took control in the third quarter. An 8-0 run gave them a 12-point lead, but the Pioneers were able to chip away at the end of the period to go to the fourth trailing by 7. With less than 5 minutes to play, MNU trailed by 12. Jasmine Webb and Kyleesha Weston combined for a 6-0 run to give the Pioneers some life, but the Cougars closed the game strong and extended the lead back to 11.

MNU shot a season-low 34% for the game, including 1-15 from beyond the arc. Jasmine Webb led the offense with 14 points. Nathalie Felipe had 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks. And Whitney Moia hauled in a game-high 8 rebounds.
