Pioneers Fall in 5 to Close Season

MNU's run at the national tournament came to an end with a 5-set loss to #6 Vanguard on Friday. MNU won the first set 25-21 but dropped the next two 12-25 and 25-27. The Pioneers battled back with a 25-22 win to force a fifth set, but Vanguard led the whole way and took the deciding set 15-7.

Gisele Silva had 16 kills and 16 digs. Sofija Berezovska had 10 kills. Taylor Cowan and Cailyn Bessmer had 5 blocks apiece. And Rachel Kater had 44 assists and 18 digs.

MNU finishes the season 28-11 with a conference title, conference tourney title, and an advancement past pool play at Nationals.
