Pioneers Avenge Lone '14 Heart Loss

Last season, MNU's only regular season loss was a 24-18 Week 4 defeat at CMU. This year in Fayette, the Pioneers dominated throughout to win 52-20. The scoring started on defense, when Jason Keobounheung scooped up a fumble near midfield and ran it all the way back for a touchdown.

MNU broke it open in the second quarter. Rushing touchdowns from Javon Taylor, Ashtin Johnson, and another from Taylor gave the Pioneers a 28-0 lead at halftime. In the third quarter, Drake Tofi scored from 36 yards out and Cristian Casillas nailed a 44-yard field to put MNU up 38-0. CMU scored a few touchdowns in garbage time, but MNU kept extending the lead to win 52-20.

Leading MNU's 400-yard rushing attacked was Javon Taylor with 165 yards on 32 carries and 2 touchdowns. Donald Garcia had 79 yards and a touchdown. QB Jakob Jordan ran for 80 yards and went 8-14 through the air for 79 yards and a touchdown. And Bo Miller recorded his first collegiate touchdown reception.

Cy Pana led the defense with 9 tackles including a sack. And Eric Irvin had 2 interceptions and Corey Tucker added another.

MNU is 5-5 (3-1 Heart South). The season finale is Saturday on Senior Day at home vs. Missouri Valley (6-4, 3-1) at 1:00.
