VIDEOThe Pioneers dominated possession and earned a spot in the quarterfinals of the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship tournament with a 2-0 victory over Vanguard on Tuesday. After a scoreless first half which saw MNU out-shoot Vanguard 10-4, the Pioneers finally broke through when 
Matias Cabello was taken down in the box. 
Eddie Morales buried the ensuing penalty kick, and MNU led 1-0. Just 3 minutes later, MNU struck again when Morales crossed a free kick into the box and 
Bryce McClanahan found 
Cameron Wallace who found the back of the net. MNU continued to dominate possession with a 2-goal lead, and the score remained until the final whistle.
MNU outshot Vanguard 23-8 (10-4 SOG). 
Juan Pablo Riesco recorded 4 saves in the shutout.
MNU is 16-5-1. The next match is Wednesday at 3:00 vs. defending champ #4 Davenport (16-2-3).
