Pioneers Sweep Benedictine

The #19 Pioneers went to Atchison and swept the Ravens on Tuesday. Set 1 was 25-9 as the Pioneers rolled. Benedictine got off to an 8-3 start in the second set, but MNU rallied to tie it at 11 after a serving run by Kat Dixon. The Pioneers controlled the rest of the set to win 25-22. The third set was tight throughout, but MNU held a 24-21 lead before the Ravens ran off 3 straight to tie it. After a timeout, the Pioneers took the next 2 points to win 26-24 and complete the sweep.

Sofija Berezovska led all attackers with 14 kills and 3 aces. Lauma Knupke added 11 kills. Taylor Cowan had 9 kills and 2 blocks. And Rachel Kater recorded 39 assists and 10 digs.

MNU is 17-8 (6-0 Heart). The next match is Tuesday at home vs. Graceland (10-13, 2-5) at 7:00.
