70-Point 2nd Half Gives MNU Blowout Victory

MNU trailed by 5 at halftime but exploded for a 103-79 victory at Graceland on Saturday. Hudson Welty got the Pioneers started with a personal 5-0 run to start the game, but Graceland responded with an 11-2 run to take a 4-point lead. The Yellowjackets led by as many as 7 before taking a 5-point lead into halftime, but the second half was all MNU. The Pioneers took the lead after just 2 minutes, but Graceland nailed a 3-pointer to take it right back. Over the next 5 and a half minutes, MNU caught fire and went on a 32-11 run to take a 20-point lead. But they didn't take the foot off the gas. A 23-6 run put MNU up by 36, and the Pioneers cruised to the blowout victory.

MNU's second half saw the Pioneers shoot 67% from the floor (24/36), 65% from beyond the arc (11/17), and 88% from the line (11/13). Cale Brubaker led 6 Pioneers in double figures with 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 11 assists (with 0 turnovers). Nate Launius had 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Hudson Welty put up a season-high 15 points on 6-9 shooting. Justin Randall added 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Gabriel Jordan had 14 points and 7 assists. And David Nelson hit three 3-pointers for 11 points in 9 minutes off the bench.
