Pioneers Fall at Culver, Retain #1 Seed

The Pioneers dropped their second HAAC match in 3 chances with a 1-3 decision at Culver-Stockton, but the 7-2 record is good enough to earn the 1-seed in the HAAC tourney this weekend. The Wildcats took the first 2 sets 26-24 and 25-20, but the Pioneers fought back with a 25-23 win in Set 3. Culver finished the match with a 25-16 victory in Set 4 to take the match 3-1.

Zoraida Heredia had 13 kills and 21 digs. Lauma Knupke added 11 kills and 4 blocks. Emily Hester had 10 kills and 3 blocks. Taylor Cowan had 6 blocks. Tashley Snyder had 22 digs. And Becca Powers had 26 assists and 2 aces.

MNU is 18-13 (7-2 HAAC). The next match is the first round of the HAAC tourney at home vs. 8-seed Peru State (24-13, 3-6) on Saturday at 7:00.
