The Pioneers kept it close in the first half, but fell by 15 against #3-ranked Cal State San Marcos on Monday. MNU led by 2 after a
Kyle Smith 3-pointer with 3 minutes left in the first half, but San Marcos ended the period on a 15-6 run to take a 7-point lead into the locker room. The lead was quickly extended to double digits in the second half, and San Marcos controlled the remainder of the game, winning 95-80.
Nate Launius led MNU with 20 points on 9-13 shooting.
