The first half was close until the Pioneers used a 9-2 run to take a 9-point lead into halftime. The lead was extended to 20 early in the second half as MNU cruised to victory. The difference in the game was in the paint and in transition, where MNU held 54-40 and 15-2 advantages respectively.
Sprew had 24 points to lead all scorers.
Kelsey Balcom and
Rachel Boan had 11 points apiece.
Navia Palu had a game-high 7 assists.
CJ Wesemann and Shadequa Longus each had 9 points off the bench. And Marli Louzeiro and
Martyna Kudziela each pulled down a team-high 7 rebounds off the bench.
The Pioneers are 14-1 (6-0 HAAC). The next game is Saturday at Central Methodist (12-3, 3-2) at 2:00. CMU handed MNU their lone conference loss last season. The teams rank #1 and #2 in the NAIA in Assists Per Game; MNU at 20.6 and CMU at 19.5.
