The Pioneers led 3-0 vs. Ottawa and held on for a 3-2 victory on Saturday. In the 25th minute, Ellaisa Marquis crossed a ball in front of the net where Kalyn Pfaff knocked it home for a 1-0 lead. The score remained 1-0 through halftime until the 51st minute when Marquis and Pfaff connected again, this time with a header, to put MNU up 2-0. MNU seemingly iced the game in the 60th minute when Kara Collins found Kara Quinn in front of the net for a 3-0 lead, but Ottawa didn't quit. Seven minutes later, the Braves got on the board on a corner kick, then Annie Kessler crushed a free kick into the net from 25 yards to make it 3-2. But MNU held on in the final minutes to come away with the win.
The Pioneers are 4-0-1. The next game is Wednesday the 11th at Oklahoma Wesleyan at 1:30.
