The Balcom sisters led the offense as MNU handled Culver on Senior Day to clinch the HAAC title for the 2nd straight season. MNU opened up a 7-0 lead and kept the Wildcats off the board for 4 and a half minutes, but Culver trailed by just 2 with 7 minutes remaining in the half. MNU went on an 18-7 run to take a 13-point lead into the locker room. The Pioneers clamped down on defense down the stretch as the lead got as high as 24, and MNU clinched the HAAC title.
Kelsey Balcom led the way with 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists in just 24 minutes.
Megan Balcom had 11 points and 3 steals. And
Kiley Herold had 10 points and 5 rebounds.
The Pioneers are 26-2 (16-1 HAAC). The next game is Monday at Evangel (7-16, 6-11) at 5:30. The Pioneers beat Evangel 65-50 last month.
