Pioneers Handle Valley

Box Score The Pioneers shot just 29% but were never threatened in a 17-point victory over Missouri Valley on Saturday. It was their 15th straight win, 2 shy of the school record from the 06-07 Final Four squad. MNU jumped out to a 17-5 lead and Valley never got within double digits as the Pioneer defense forced 29 turnovers and allowed just 45 points.

Rachel Boan led the starters with 10 points. Kendra Flemming played just 6 minutes and recorded 10 points, a blocked shot, and 2 steals. Daria Sprew had 8 points and 8 rebounds. And Ebonee Bell had a game-high 7 assists off the bench.

The Pioneers are 25-2 (15-1 HAAC). The next game is Thursday at Evangel (7-14, 6-9) at 5:30. MNU overcame a slow start to win by 15 in the first Evangel matchup last month. With 2 games left, the Pioneers need one more victory to clinch the HAAC regular season title and guarantee a birth in the national tournament.
