The conference race is deadlocked once again after the #22 Pioneers dropped a 48-52 contest to Benedictine on Saturday. The Ravens took an early lead and built it to 13 as MNU was held scoreless for 8 minutes. MNU came out of the locker room strong and a 9-point halftime deficit was whittled to 1 after five minutes of play. The Pioneers regained the lead shortly thereafter, but the Ravens did not go away. With the game tied at 40, Benedictine went on a 9-2 run over 4 minutes to take control of the game. MNU managed to get within one in the final minute, but the Ravens hit enough free throws to hold off the Pioneers and get the upset.
Avila won their contest so the conference race is tied once again with both teams at 11-3. Central Methodist looms at 10-4 so this race will come down to the final game.
