Box Score Justin Collard's thunderous dunk with a minute remaining put the stamp on a great game vs. Benedictine on Saturday. The Pioneers trailed by 4 with three minutes left when Collard make his mark on the game. After a 3-point play from
Jacob French, Collard made a steal and fed it to
Conner Langrehr for a quick jumper. With MNU up one and Benedictine with the ball,
Luke Thomas blocked a shot toward
Nick Syrie who fed a streaking Collard for a monster dunk. The Ravens followed with a quick turnover, and
Rustin Dowd iced the game with a shot-clock beating 3-pointer.
The first half of the game was all Pioneers. MNU pushed the pace and took a 10-point lead to the locker room. The lead was extended to 12 before the Ravens began to reel the Pioneers in. A snail's pace, several missed MNU free throws, and efficient offense chopped the lead all the way down to 2 with 10 minutes remaining. The Pioneers went on a 6-0 run to extend the lead to 8, but the Ravens chipped away again. A 15-3 run put Benedictine up by 4 with three minutes left, but the big plays from French, Thomas, and Collard down the stretch was the difference in the 68-63 victory.
Jacob French had 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
Luke Thomas had 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
Rustin Dowd had 14 points and 3 steals.
