Pioneers Sweep Ravens

Stats | The Pioneers maintained their lead in the HAAC with a sweep of Benedictine on Tuesday. With the victory MNU moves to 5-0 in conference play - ahead of Graceland (6-1) and Baker (4-1), both of whom MNU has yet to play - and has won 6 straight matches.

The Pioneers dominated each of the first two sets and ran away with consecutive 25-15 victories. Benedictine kept it a bit closer in the third set but the Pioneers still controlled and won 25-19.

Vladi Kopanarova dominated the net, recording 12 kills and 0 errors while hitting .750 for the match. She also picked up 3 blocks. Molly Brewster added 9 kills, 15 digs, 2 aces, and 2 blocks. Megan Hayes had 8 kills and 5 blocks. And Taryn Salem recorded 30 assists and 2 blocks.

The Pioneers are 17-4 (5-0 HAAC). The next match is Tuesday at Culver-Stockton at 7:00 (11-14, 3-3). The next home contest is Thursday the 18th vs. Baker and will be MNU's Dig Pink match.

The MNU Volleyball team is selling pink t-shirts to help raise funds and awareness for breast cancer. The shirts are $20 and $10 of each shirt sold will go to the Dig Pink Foundation, which donates funds to breast cancer research.  You can purchase your shirts from any MNU volleyball player, or at the athletic department office.
