The Pioneers led by 12 on the road but Benedictine came back and ended MNU's season on Thursday. After a hot start, MNU led 24-12 with 8 minutes remaining in the first half. But Benedictine went on a 12-1 run to cut the lead to 1. The Pioneers trailed by 3 at halftime and the Ravens built a 7-point lead 5 minutes into the second half. MNU battled back to take a 2-point lead with 9 minutes left, and the game remained close the rest of the way. A 10-2 run by the Ravens gave them a 3-possession lead in the final minutes, and the Pioneers could not come back.
Conner Langrehr led the offense with 21 points. Rustin Dowd had 13 points and a game-high 6 assists. Luke Thomas had 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks off the bench. And Keith McCullough pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.
The Pioneers finish 14-17 (9-11 HAAC); the first losing season since the 88-89 season.
