The Pioneers avenged an earlier loss at MO Valley with a 76-51 victory over the Vikings on Saturday. The game was tight until the Pioneers went on a remarkable run to close the first half. MNU had a 22-19 lead with 7:24 remaining in the half when the Pioneer defense changed the game. Missouri Valley was stuck on 19 points until the 17:11 mark of the second half. Meanwhile the Pioneers scored 20 straight points to take control of the game. Dowd was responsible for 12 points and an assist during that stretch.
The lead got as high as 31 points as the Pioneers moved their conference record to 7-8 (5th place).
Rustin Dowd led the offense with 16 points and a career-high 13 assists.
Luke Thomas added a career-high 15 points off the bench.
Conner Langrehr added 14 points and 5 assists.
Keith McCullough reached double figures with 10 points. And
Austin Hennings grabbed 8 rebounds off the bench in just 13 minutes of play.
The Pioneers are 12-13 (7-8 HAAC). The next game is Monday at Central Methodist at 7:30.
