Box Score 3 MNU Athletics enjoyed an incredible week from November 7-12 as they did not lose a game in 12 chances.
Football at Evangel | W 37-0 | Box and Play by Play
The Pioneers capped off the regular season and secured a #4 national ranking with their second shutout of the season on Saturday; a 37-0 performance at Evangel. The Pioneers scored on their first two drives to take a 10-0 lead and the Crusaders never threatened.
Sean Ransburg was 15-24 passing for 145 yards and a touchdown. He also ran 7 times for 58 yards and a touchdown.
James Tillman had 22 carries for 98 yards and a touchdown.
Juan Redmon ended his regular season career as the HAAC's leading receiver (4.7 receptions per game) and hauled in 6 passes for 77 yards and 2 touchdowns. And
Austin Conyers caught 6 balls for 50 yards.
Joey Oxley recorded 11 tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss and a half sack. Demarco Kemp had 8 tackles including 1/5 tackles for loss. And
Brandon Smith ended the regular season as the HAAC leader in sacks (1.2 sacks per game) and recorded 1.5 more on Saturday.
The Pioneers are 9-1 overall and 8-1 in conference play, securing a HAAC Conference Co-Championship with Missouri Valley. MNU has a rematch with #13 Southern Nazarene (9-2) on Saturday at 1:00 for the first round of the NAIA Football Championship Series.

Women's Basketball vs. Southwestern | W 79-49 | Box and Play by Play
Daria Sprew led a balanced offensive attack with 13 points in MNU's 79-49 victory over Southwestern on Saturday. The Pioneers started the game with the first 4 points and Southwestern never led. The lead was 9 at halftime but Southwestern closed the gap to 5 in the first few minutes of the second half. A 19-3 run by the Pioneers ballooned the lead to 21 and MNU cruised to the finish.
Sprew had 13 points and 5 rebounds.
Kristie Tiegreen had 9 points and 6 rebounds off the bench.
Ashley Bessmer came off the bench in the final minutes to nail all three of her attemped 3-pointers and ended with 9 points. And 6 other Pioneers scored at least 6 points in the 30-point victory.
MNU is 4-2. The next game is Friday at #11 Southern Nazarene (2-0) at 6:00 PM.

Men's Basketball vs. Friends | W 83-75 | Box and Play by Play
Five Pioneers reached double figures in MNU's 83-75 victory over Friends on Saturday. The turning point in the game came when MNU went on a 14-0 run over 3 minutes in the first half to turn a 2-point lead into a 16-point advantage. The Falcons didn't quit, however, and the lead was trimmed to 3 with 7 minutes remaining in the game. MNU fought off the charge and maintained a 6 to 8 point lead in the final minutes to take the game.
Conner Langrehr,
Rustin Dowd, and
Luke Thomas paced the Pioneers with 15 points apiece.
Lukas Weigel had 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
Jacob French had 12 points and 7 rebounds.
Nick Syrie had a game-high 6 assists. And
David Clark had 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks off the bench.
The Pioneers are 4-1. The next game is Friday at Pitt State at 7:00 PM.

Starting with Men's Soccer's victory over then-#24 Graceland in the opening round of the conference tournament on Monday (story
here), MNU athletics won all 12 contests and secured and unprecedented 3 fall-sport conference championships this week. Both Men's and Women's Basketball won 3 games, Football took care of Evangel on Saturday, Volleyball won 2 conference tournament matches to capture their first ever berth to Nationals, and Men's Soccer defeated 3 ranked teams, including #6 Missouri Valley (story

Chad Jenkins. "I've been covering MNU going on 5 years and I've never been more proud to be associated with this school. I've seen perfect weeks, but never with this many games and never with this much pressure involved. Conference tournament titles, facing highly ranked teams, great crowds even on the road...this is the most fun I've had in my time here."
