Pioneers Fall to Avila

Avila used an incredible night at the free throw line to defeat the Pioneers in Olathe on Thursday. The Eagles shot an amazing 28-29 from the line while holding the Pioneers to 35% from the field. Avila used a 7-0 run to close the first half to take a 7-point lead to the locker room, and the Pioneers never recovered. The Eagles maintained a double-digit lead throughout most of the second half, and used their success at the line to keep MNU at bay.

CJ Wesemann came off the bench to lead the offense with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. And Kristie Tiegreen had 9 points and 10 rebounds.

The Pioneers are 8-13 (6-5 HAAC). The next game is Thursday, February 3 at home vs. Benedictine at 5:30.
