Pioneers Sweep Culver-Stockton

The Pioneers picked up two double-digit wins vs. Culver-Stockton on Saturday. In the women's game, the Pioneers trailed by 6 early in the first half until a 22-6 run put MNU up by 10. The Pioneers maintained a double-digit lead throughout the second half and ended the first half of the conference season with a 6-4 HAAC record.

Kiley Herold had a game-high 17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals. Janee' Garza had 12 points. Lindsey Sprague and CJ Wesemann added 10 point apiece. And Kassidy Ritchel had 9 points, a game-high 10 rebounds, and a game-high 5 assists.

The Pioneers are 8-12 (6-4 HAAC). The next game is Thursday the 27th at home vs. Avila (10-8, 5-4) at 5:30.

In the men's game, HAAC leading scorer Rustin Dowd had an incredible 7-minute spurt which set the tone for the game. Dowd connected on a layup at the 14:46 mark for his first points of the game. He hit his first 7 shots (including 4 threes) and was sitting on 18 points at the 7:53 mark. He finished the half with 18 points as the Pioneers took a 15-point lead into the locker room. In the second half MNU had a 20-point lead and cruised to their 9th victory of the season.

Rustin Dowd finished with a game-high 26 points and 5 assists. Keith McCullough had 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks. Conner Langrehr added 15 points and 4 assists. Lukas Weigel had 11 points and 7 rebounds. Luke Thomas contributed 6 points and 5 rebounds off the bench. And Bryce Anderson had quality minutes with a game-high 4 blocks and 4 rebounds off the bench.

The Pioneers are 9-11 (4-6 HAAC). The next game is Thursday the 27th at home vs. Avila (7-11, 3-6) at 7:30.
