Rustin Dowd's 26 points and 11 assists led the Pioneers to a 108-85 victory over Central Methodist on Tuesday.
Conner Langrehr scored 6 points right out of the gate as the Pioneers started the game on an 8-1 run. CMU hung around in the first half and trailed by 3 with 6 minutes remaining in the period, but the Pioneers exploded with a 14-3 run to take a 14-point lead to the locker room.
The second half was MNU's finest of the season. The Pioneers did not miss a shot until 10 minutes ticked off the clock as the lead increased to 24. MNU shot 24-30 (80%) in the second half and finished with a 72% field goal percentage. Meanwhile the defense held CMU to 37% shooting as the Pioneers moved to 3-5 in the conference.
Dowd had 26 points, 11 assists, and 4 rebounds.
Keith McCullough had 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Conner Langrehr had 19 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and a block.
Lukas Weigel had 12 points. And
Luke Thomas added 9 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists off the bench.
The Pioneers are 8-10 (3-5 HAAC). The next game is Thursday at Baker at 7:30.
