Pioneers Survive Haskell

The Pioneers dominated the first 2 sets on Thursday, but Haskell fought back and forced a 5th set in MNU's 3-2 non-conference victory over the Indians. MNU controlled the first two sets and cruise to 25-16 and 25-20 victories. But as much as the Pioneers dominated the Indians, the Indians matched it in sets 3 and 4, winning 13-25 and 22-25. The 5th set was a back-and-forth contest and the Pioneers managed a 16-14 victory.

Anna Nostrant led the way with 16 kills and 8 blocks. Britney Grittman and Ashley Fantazia reached double figures with 10 kills apiece. Melissa Anaya had 42 assists and 2 aces. And Laura Hamblin had 26 digs.

The Pioneers are 7-14 (2-1 HAAC). The next match is Thursday the 7th at Missouri Valley (9-9, 1-3) at 7:00 PM.
