Pioneers Pick Up Second Straight Shutout

Becca Skillman's second straight shutout keyed the Pioneers in a 2-0 victory over Missouri Baptist on Saturday. Kinsey Chavez broke the scoreless tie in the 60th minute with a goal assisted by Kate Williams. Skillman fought off several good MBU chances as the Spartans kept good pressure. But Alyssa Howard iced the game in the 70th minute with her 3rd goal of the season. The assist came on a great pass from Rebecca McAndrew. Skillman and the defense held for the rest of the game and the Pioneers moved to 3-1. "It was a great well-balanced game," said Coach Orton. "Defense was solid and we got plenty of good chances on offense."

The 3-1 Pioneers are home vs. Bellevue (2-1) on Friday at 3:00 PM.
