In the women's game, the Pioneers took a 6-point lead at halftime, and used a 12-3 run early in the second half to take a comanding 15-point lead. MNU kept building the lead throughout the second half and won 82-51.
Bethany Rexroth had 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
Lindsey Sprague came off the bench to also score 12.
Sophia Stockton and
Kristin Malone each contributed 10 points.
Bethany Schwab hit three 3-pointers for 9 points.
Kristie Tiegreen and
Heather Cunard both had 6 points and 7 rebounds. And
Beth Keeley filled the stat sheet with 6 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists, and 5 steals.
The Pioneers finish the regular season 18-12 (13-7 HAAC). The next game will be in the conference tournament: Thursday, March 4 on the road vs. an opponent to be determined at 7:00 PM.
In the men's game, Culver-Stockton started the game with an 11-1 run. But MNU countered with a 19-8 stretch to finally take the lead with 7 minutes remaining in the first half. The Wildcats hung tough and trailed by just 2 points with 7 minutes left in the game, but the Pioneers finished the game on an 18-6 run to win 71-57.
Brenton Bell had 24 points, 5 assists, 3 blocks, and 5 steals.
Ben Swinger had 9 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. And
Vince Thompkins had 9 points and 4 assists.
