Olin Gets #500 at Baker

A balanced scoring attack and great defense was the key to the Pioneers' 64-50 victory at Baker on Thursday. It was Coach Olin's 500th career victory.

The MNU defense held Baker to just 17 first-half points as the Pioneers took a 14-point lead into the locker room. The Wildcats came out strong in the second half, trimming a 20-point deficit all the way down to 7, but MNU was able to hold Baker off and improve to 12-7 in the conference. MNU now joins Baker, Avila, and Benedictine in a 4-way tie for 3rd in the conference with one game to play.

Heather Cunard led the Pioneers with 11 points. Bethany Rexroth had 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Lindsey Sprague added 9 points. Beth Keeley had 8 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 5 steals. Hadleigh Meek had 8 points and 4 rebounds. And Kristie Tiegreen had 8 points and 5 rebounds.

MNU is 17-12 (12-7 HAAC). The next game is Senior Night: Saturday at home vs. Culver-Stockton (4-22, 1-17) at 2:00.
