Rustin Dowd's career-high 39 points were not enough to overcome the balanced attack of Benedictine on Tuesday. The Pioneers fought back from a first-half 8-point deficit when Dowd scored 12 in a 14-6 MNU run. The game was tied at 39 at halftime as Dowd went off for 29 first-half points.
The second half was controlled by Benedictine. The Ravens went on a 12-2 run and took a double-digit lead they would not relinquish. The Pioneers fought to stay in the game but were unable to reel in the Ravens and fell 78-68.
Dowd had 39 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals.
Barry Robinson added 14 points. And
Lukas Weigel had 7 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals.
The Pioneers are 6-6 (1-1 HAAC). The next game is Saturday at home vs. William Jewell (8-1, 2-0) on Saturday at 7:30.
