Pioneers Pick Up First Conference Victory

The Pioneers picked up their first conference victory with a 57-53 win at Benedictine on Tuesday. The game started with a 5-0 run for the Ravens, but MNU quickly tied the game and started a trend which saw back and forth mini runs for the whole contest.  The Pioneers built a 10-point lead, but a 16-5 Raven run led to a tie game at halftime.

The second half was more of the same. The Ravens took a quick 7-point lead, but MNU went on a 16-3 run to take a 6-point lead with 11 minutes remaining. Benedictine answered with a 9-0 run to get the lead back, but with the game tied at 53 the Pioneers scored the final 4 points at the free throw line to win their second game of the year. MNU held Benedictine scoreless for the final 5+ minutes of the contest.
