The #4 Pioneers jumped on Central Methodist quickly and cruised to a 56-28 victory on Saturday. On the Pioneers' opening possession,
Sean Ransburg turned a 3rd and 5 situation into a 52-yard touchdown to take a 7-0 lead. On the ensuing CMU drive,
AJ Rodriguez blocked a punt and
Sam Keaster returned it for a touchdown. Later in the first quarter,
James Tillman's 1-yard touchdown run put the Pioneers up 21-0 and MNU never looked back. The lead got as big as 42-7 before CMU strung a few late touchdowns together, but the MNU defense forced 6 turnovers and the game was never in doubt.
Greg Gates led the rushing attack with 16 carries for 127 yards and a touchdown. He also caught a 23-yard touchdown pass.
Sean Ransburg had 4 carries for 77 yards and a touchdown while completing 9 passes for 138 yards and 2 touchdowns.
James Tillman ran 9 times for 68 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Kellen Long had 5 catches for 74 yards.
Juan Redmon had 4 catches for 60 yards and a touchdown.
Dantren Anderson led the defense with 6 tackles including a sack.
Hagen Rose had 5 tackles and a sack. And
JD Wood had two interceptions including a pick-6.
The #4 Pioneers are 9-0. The next game is Saturday, November 6 at 1:00 vs. #9 Missouri Valley (7-1). If the Pioneers win, they will be sole HAAC champs. If MO Valley wins, there will likely be a 3-way tie at the top of the HAAC among Lindenwood, MNU, and MVC (LU and MVC each have a game remaining on 11/13 while MNU is off) . Saturday's game will be broadcast on Victory Sports Network.
