Pioneers Drop 2nd Straight

Brenton Bell and Rustin Dowd both reached 20 points on Monday, but it wasn't enough to stop the balanced attack of Central Methodist, and the Pioneers fell 92-78. The Eagles of CMU had 4 players in double figures, and 3 more guys with at least 6 on their way to 92 points. The Pioneers found themselves down by 11 points with 6 minutes remaining in the first half. But a 13-5 run got them back in the game. The Eagles started out hot in the second half, and MNU couldn't dig out of the 14-point hole.

Bell had 24 points and 3 rebounds. Dowd had 23 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists. Ben Swinger contributed 14 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals. And Lukas Weigel had 13 points and 3 rebounds off the bench.

The Pioneers are 8-7 (2-3 HAAC). The next game is Thursday the 14th at Evangel (8-7, 4-1) at 7:30.
