Brenton Bell and
Rustin Dowd both reached 20 points on Monday, but it wasn't enough to stop the balanced attack of Central Methodist, and the Pioneers fell 92-78. The Eagles of CMU had 4 players in double figures, and 3 more guys with at least 6 on their way to 92 points. The Pioneers found themselves down by 11 points with 6 minutes remaining in the first half. But a 13-5 run got them back in the game. The Eagles started out hot in the second half, and MNU couldn't dig out of the 14-point hole.
Bell had 24 points and 3 rebounds. Dowd had 23 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Ben Swinger contributed 14 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals. And
Lukas Weigel had 13 points and 3 rebounds off the bench.
The Pioneers are 8-7 (2-3 HAAC). The next game is Thursday the 14th at Evangel (8-7, 4-1) at 7:30.
