MNU Football Handles Culver

Offense puts up 52 points despite 6 turnovers

MNU put up 52 points vs. Culver-Stockton despite 6 turnovers on Saturday. The Pioneers started quickly as Tyler Herl connected with Jared Elmore for a 56-yard touchdown pass on the first play from scrimmage. Demerick Chancellor ended the next Pioneer drive with a 2-yard touchdown run to complete a 6-play, 52-yard drive. Culver answered with a 13-play, 77-yard touchdown drive but missed the extra point to bring the score to 14-6. MNU ended the quarter with an Eric Hronek field goal to take an 11-point lead.

Culver took advantage of multiple Pioneer turnovers to win the second quarter 13-7 as MNU took a 24-19 lead into the half. The second half was all Pioneers (despite more turnovers) as they put up 28 points to Culver's 7. The final was 52-26.

Tyler Herl was 20-28 for 339 yards and 3 touchdowns. Demerick Chancellor rushed 8 times for 104 yards and 2 touchdowns. And Jared Elmore caught 8 passes for 152 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Pioneers are 3-0. The next game for the #7 Pioneers is at #3 Lindenwood at 6 pm on Saturday.
