MNU Volleyball Sweeps Park

6th straight win for the Pioneers

Molly Brewster and Megan Hayes' 10 kills apiece led the Pioneers in a 3-0 sweep of Park University on Tuesday. It was the 6th consecutive match won by the volleyball team; a feat unseen at MNU in at least 4 years. In the first set, the Pioneers took an early lead and never relinquished it, winning 25-20. The second set saw MNU down by four points early, but the Pioneers rallied to take back control and again won 25-20. The third set was all MNU, and they took the match with a 25-19 score.

"We're starting to come together and play well as a unit," said Coach Banis. "Hopefully we will carry some momentum into the conference part of the schedule."

Brewster and Hayes had 10 kills, Sharaeah Bullock had 23 assists, Laura Hamblin had 18 digs, and Hayes and Sara Phipps each had 2 blocks. The Pioneers are 7-4 (1-1 HAAC). The next game is at home of Friday the 18th vs. Grace College (IN) at 3:00 for the MNU Invitational. The Pioneers will also play Kansas Wesleyan on Friday at 7:00.
