Pioneer Volleyball Drops Home Opener

MNU Volleyball dropped three games at the hands of Benedictine College on Tuesday night: 22-25, 21-25, and 19-25. Each game was tightly contested, but the Ravens of Benedictine pulled away at the end of each game to grab the sweep. "It's frustrating to come away empty handed," said coach Rick Banis. "But I'm encouraged that we were able to play with one of the better teams in the conference with such a young lineup." Due to injuries, the Pioneers usually have five freshmen on the floor.

Ashley Fantazia led the Pioneers with 10 kills and 2 aces. Sharaeah Bullock had 26 assists. And Laura Hamblin & Molly Brewster had 10 digs apiece.

The Pioneers are 1-4 (0-1 HAAC). Next up for the Pioneers is a weekend tournament in Sterling, KS.
