Pioneers Handle Park

Kristin Malone's and Kristie Tiegreen's game-high 14 points led the Pioneers in a 64-54 victory over Park on Tuesday. The victory snaps a 4-game losing streak and bring MNU back to .500 after starting 3-0. The Pioneers led by 13 at halftime and were able to maintain their lead throughout the second half despite 33 turnovers. The MNU defense was stout, allowing just Park to shoot just 15% from the field in the first half; 26% for the game.

"It's nice to get back into the win column," said Coach Olin. "With conference games coming this week we needed to get back some confidence." MNU will face Avila on Thursday and Benedictine next Tuesday.

Malone had 6 rebounds and 4 steals to go along with her 14 points. Tiegreen pulled down 9 rebounds and had 2 steals. And Bethany Rexroth had 13 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 blocks.

The Pioneers are 4-4. The next game is Thursday at home vs. Avila (5-3) at 5:30.
