Rexroth Leads Pioneers over Ottawa

Bethany Rexroth continued her hot start to the season with a big game vs. Ottawa on Tuesday. The senior center followed up her HAAC Player of the Week honor with a game-high 20 points, career-high 12 rebounds, and a career-high 7 assists in MNU's 85-54 victory.

The Pioneers found themselves down 10-0 after just a couple minutes to start the game. But MNU turned it around quickly with a 13-2 run to take the lead. The rest of the half was all Pioneers and they took a 12-point lead into the locker room. The second half saw the lead balloon all the way to 32 points as 10 Pioneers scored in the game.

Kristin Malone tied her career high with 17 points and dished out 4 assists while grabbing 3 rebounds. Lindsey Sprague came off the bench to score a career-high 12 points and get a career-high 5 rebounds. And Kristie Tiegreen saw double figures with 10 points as she hauled in 6 rebounds.

The Pioneers are 3-0. The next game is Friday at the Pizza Ranch Classic on the campus of Northwestern College (IA) vs. Sioux Falls. The games will be available via free video stream. Check the women's basketball schedule for the link.
