Defender Aurelien Norest was named 2nd team All-Conference in 2011 as a freshman, when MNU won the conference tournament and qualified for Nationals. As a sophomore in 2012, he was named 1st team All-Conference and 1-time Conference Player of the Week as the Pioneers made a run to the Fab 4 at Nationals. As a junior in 2013, he was named 1st team All-America, 1st team All-Conference, Conference Defensive Player of the Year, Conference MVP, 1-time National Player of the Week, and 1-time Conference Player of the Week as MNU won the conference title and reached the Sweet 16 at Nationals. In 2014 as a senior, he was 1st team All-America, 1st team All-Conference, Conference Defensive Player of the Year, Conference Co-MVP, and 1-time Conference Player of the Week as the Pioneers again finished in the Sweet 16 at Nationals.
