Emily Almodova returned to MNU Sports Medicine in September 2021. She previously served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at MidAmerica Nazarene University from fall 2016 through spring 2018, working primarily with the football and baseball teams.

Emily earned her Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training from Wichita State University before completing her Master of Science in Management while serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at MNU.

Following her graduate assistantship, Emily worked as an athletic trainer for Overland Park Regional Medical Center, where she provided athletic training services for various youth sports organizations, as well as Heritage Christian Academy’s high school and middle school athletic programs.

Emily has been a certified athletic trainer since 2016. In 2024, she was honored as the Heart of America Athletic Trainer of the Year.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching sports, shopping, reading, and listening to podcasts. She resides in Leawood, Kansas, with her husband, Matt; their son, Makai; their daughter, Kailani; and their dog, Duke.
