Eric Hoke

Eric Hoke is beginning his first season as throws coach for the Pioneers Track & Field team. Before coming to MidAmerica Nazarene University, Hoke spent four and a half seasons at Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS. While at Bethany, Hoke’s throwers and jumpers earned 54 All-KCAC awards including 12 individual KCAC Champions. Hoke has had 14 NAIA National Championship qualifiers. Of these qualifiers his athletes earned 5 All-America awards.

Before Bethany College, Hoke spent 2 seasons at Quincy University in Illinois as a student assistant. While at QU, Hoke’s throwers broke and or established every one of the school records.

Hoke also coached the throws for Quincy High School and the Quincy Track & Field Club (QTC), a premier USATF and AAU team. While at Quincy High his female throwers broke both the shot put and discus records, both of these two athletes landed Division 1 scholarships. While with QTC, Hoke’s throwers earned over 25 zone and district championships, two national titles, four national runners-up, and 10 top ten performances.

During his playing career, Hoke graduated from Garnett High School (KS) where he was four sport-athlete. Hoke still holds the record for the most tackles in a season and his javelin record was retired when the javelin was redesigned. Hoke played football for Washburn University in Topeka, KS.

Hoke earned a Master’s Degree in Human Health and Performance with an Exercise Science emphasis from Fort Hays University. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a Personal Training emphasis and a Minor in Mathematics from Quincy University. Hoke has a 27-year-old daughter, Mariah. She is married and lives in Quincy, IL.
