In his first indoor season as the Jumps/Multis coach, Yates coached 4 national qualifiers (2 Pent, 1 HJ, 1 LJ), 12 all conference performances and 2 conference champions (HJ, LJ). Yates also coached 2 athletes to 2 new school records (Walker - HJ 5'8 & Hammond - Pentathlon 3188), while being voted the Heart of America Assistant Women's Coach of the Year.
Prior to coming to MNU, Yates spent 3 years coaching at the NCAA DII level at Upper Iowa University where he led the sprints, hurdles, relays, and multis groups. He coached 18 women to All NSIC Conference honors, coached athletes to 41 different school records, as well as, coaching 2 NCAA DII National Qualifiers in the 400m hurdles and the heptathlon.
Prior to coaching at Upper Iowa, Anthony spent 1 season coaching at his alma mater, Greenville University, where he specialized in the multi-events and the hurdle events. He coached 1 runner up All-American, 6 NCAA National Qualifiers, 3 NCAA All-Americans, 1 SLIAC Conference Champion, and 6 ALL SLIAC Conference honorees.
As a student-athlete at Greenville University, Anthony specialized as an athlete in the 400m hurdles, multi-events, and the pole vault. He was a 6-time National Qualifier and a 3-time All-American in the 400m hurdles, 4x4 relay, and the pole vault.
Yates earned his Bachelor of Art degree in biology from Greenville and is currently finishing up his Masters of Sports Administration degree at Upper Iowa.
