MNU Spectator COVID Protocol

WEB STATEMENT ON FAN PROTOCOL (as of 1/21/22)
 
General Guidelines                                                    
MNU remains committed to providing a healthy, safe, and positive campus environment for students, employees, and guests. We will continue to take a reasonable approach while developing protocols.  Policies and guidelines have been established in partnership with local health department guidance, vaccination rates, and COVID-19 positivity rates.  As Covid continues to evolve and change, so may our stance on protocol for attendance.  Changes to the will be made as necessary; please continue to check the mnusports.com webpage for updates and changes.
 
Spectators Allowed at “Winter/Spring” MNU Athletic Events:
MidAmerica Nazarene University has announced that spectators for home games will be permitted with some appropriate guidelines.  In order to minimize the risks and potential exposure of COVID-19 for spectators, student-athletes and staff, the following protocol will be implemented until further notice.

Allowed Spectator Groups:
To start the Fall 2021 competition schedule, MNU will allow spectators at all home events.  faculty, staff, students, Pioneer Athletic Association Members, parents of current athletes and visiting fans are able to attend.  All tickets will be sold electronically and through mnutickets.universitytickets.comPlease note, this policy is subject to change.

Cook Center/Bell Family Arena: “Volleyball/Basketball”
  • For all events being hosted in the Cook Center/Bell Family arena, Face coverings are not required but are encouraged for all spectators, officials, game support staff, coaches and student athletes (not engaged in competition) regardless of vaccination status.
  • It is recommended that family units be seated together, respect and observe social distancing guidelines throughout the stadium, Cook Center and outdoor facilities. Family units should share a bleacher row, maintaining 6' between families, with a row separating spectator groups.
  • Concessions will be available with limited offerings.
  • Contact with student athletes or staff, prior to, between games or at the completion of games; whether in, on or around the facilities will be restricted.
  • Game day ticket sales will be paperless and operated through electronic purchases through University Tickets at mnutickets.universitytickets.com
Dixon Stadium/Baseball & Williams Field/Softball
  • Face coverings are NOT presently required but are encouraged for additional safety and precaution.
  • It is recommended that family units be seated together, respect and observe social distancing guidelines throughout the stadium and outdoor facilities. Family units should share a bleacher row, maintaining 6' between families, with a row separating spectator groups; or space personal chairs out.
  • Contact with student athletes or staff, prior to, between games or at the completion of games; whether in, on or around the facilities will be restricted.
  • Game day ticket sales will be paperless and operated through electronic purchases through University Tickets at mnutickets.universitytickets.com

Due to restrictions/limitations, we are happy to provide free streaming of home athletic events during the 2021-22 season through MNUsports.com, both live and on demand.
