Cross Country/Track & Field Welcome

VIDEO: Welcome from Head Coach Nate Wiens

Dear Prospective Pioneer,

I want to welcome you on behalf of our University and our coaching staff to a new era in MNU Cross Country and Track and Field. Being an alum of MNU and having a chance to return to coach at this great institution is a privilege. The dedication of administration, coaches, faculty and staff to ensure you have a positive and productive process academically and athletically is among the best in the nation. When it comes to making your college decision, I encourage you to explore MidAmerica Nazarene University.

Academically, MNU has over 40 undergraduate programs and 15 graduate and professional programs. The average class size is 16 for traditional undergraduates; 18 for professional studies; 9 for graduate degrees. Our student-athletes across all programs carry high GPA’s with the ultimate and unwavering goal of every student-athlete reaching graduation and becoming a success in their field of study.

Athletically, MNU Cross Country and Track and Field is a program rich in tradition that includes many conference championship titles and a strong national presence. Now with a new start, I have every reason to believe the same reputation will continue beginning next year and into the future. As a coach, I work to coach the whole person, not just the athletic person, and make it my goal to see my athletes excel in every area of their lives. I have experience coaching athletes that have claimed Division I and II NCAA conference titles, All-America Awards, Olympic Trials Qualifying Standards, and Olympic Games participation.

Our University offers an ideal location to excel athletically and academically. We are a smaller institution that gives exceptional individual service to our students, promoting cultural awareness and challenging students to create a healthy and informed worldview. MNU is also located less than 30 minutes from downtown Kansas City and the Plaza/Westport area offering extensive options for positive social networking, internships, and professional opportunities. The city of Olathe, specifically has been ranked in the top-15 best cities in America in which to live. We are proud to provide a safe college experience and location to any student from any background.

Thanks for taking time to familiarize yourself with MidAmerica Nazarene University. I invite you to fill out our recruiting questionnaire, fill out an online application for our university, and follow us on social media (facebook) (twitter) to stay informed with our program. I want to wish you the best of luck with your college search and I hope we can welcome you to the Pioneer family in the near future.

Blessings,

Nate Wiens
