Victoria Lotz Earns 4th National Weekly Honor

Lawrence, Kan. / Des Moines, Iowa – Testing her skills against NCAA Division I athletes, Victoria Lotz traveled to the prestigious Kansas University and Drake Relays.

At the KU Relays, Lotz initially solidified her place in the hammer throw finals among the Division I and II athletes. In the finals she unleashed a throw of 59.02 meters to win the event as well as set a personal best and school record, claim the highest NAIA mark in the nation for this outdoor season, and grab the top 5 all-time NAIA hammer throw position. With this throw she was also named NAIA Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, adding to her already unprecedented 3 such honors during the Indoor season.

Following the KU Relays, Lotz took the show up I-35 to continue her work in the hammer throw at the Drake Relays which has been thrilling fans since 1910.  Once again, Lotz muscled her way into the finals.  Though the finals did not go as well as she had hoped, always the competitor, Lotz took the fourth place spot, throwing four marks that were still farther than any other NAIA woman this year.
