Lindenwood took an early lead and kept the pressure on in a 19-2 romp over the Pioneers at the conference tournament on Saturday. The Lions scored 4 in the second, another in the fourth, and 3 more in the fifth to take an 8-0 lead. The Pioneers rallied for 2 in the sixth, but Lindenwood ended all hopes of a comeback with 7 in the seventh and 4 more in the eighth to go up by 17. Ben Alison (2-4) and Donnie MacLeod (1-2, BB, HBP, SB) led the offense.
The Pioneers are 30-16. The next game is Monday vs. Culver-Stockton (36-14) at 3:30. If the Pioneers win, they will immediately play the loser of the noon Lindenwood/Jewell game for the chance to play on Tuesday.
