MNU Defense Strong Again
mcandrew
4th straight shutout for women's soccer
Rebecca McAndrew plus great defense has been the formula for 4 straight shutout wins for the Pioneer women's soccer team. She has scored 3 of the just 5 goals in the winning streak, twice scoring in 1-0 victories. The junior midfielder also contributes defensively, and has been crucial in the shutouts. Goalkeeper Becca Skillman hasn't allowed a goal in two weeks, and MNU sits atop the HAAC. On Tuesday the Pioneers downed #19 Baker University. This is the first win vs a National Top 25 opponent in program history. The game went back and forth as both teams traded shots. Rebecca McAndrew opened the scoring in the 17th minute on a pass from Savannah Lamar. Rebecca dribbled passed her defender and was able to finish the ball. Baker rallied in the 2nd half with several shots but were unable find the back of the net. "We played really well as a team today," said Coach Orton. "It was great to see all that we have worked on come together."

The Pioneers are 6-4-1 (3-0-0 HAAC). The next game is Saturday at Missouri Valley (2-7, 0-2) at 1:00 PM.
